Event Detail

The Resuscitative TEE Workshop is a practical, multidisciplinary course designed for clinicians who care for critically ill patients and make high-stakes decisions in acute care settings.

Focused transesophageal echocardiography, TEE, can provide essential information when transthoracic imaging is limited, when time matters, and when bedside decision-making needs to be supported by real-time cardiac assessment.

This workshop combines pre-course learning, focused didactic instruction, case-based discussion, and hands-on simulation using HeartWorks high-fidelity simulators. Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of focused TEE image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical integration in resuscitation and critical care scenarios.

The goal is to help clinicians build a practical foundation they can connect directly to the care of unstable patients.

About Organizer

Resuscitative TEE Project Organizer name

resuscitativetee.com

The Resuscitative TEE Project is an independent, multidisciplinary educational initiative dedicated to advancing focused transesophageal echocardiography, TEE/TOE, in emergency and critical care settings. Since 2016, the project has supported the growth of resuscitative TEE education through workshops, learning labs, online resources, research, and international collaboration. Its flagship workshop has trained more than 1,800 clinicians through over 80 courses worldwide. Led by clinicians and educators in emergency medicine, critical care, cardiology, and anesthesiology, the project focuses on high-quality education, hands-on training, and practical bedside decision-making for critically ill patients.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for clinicians practicing in resuscitation and acute care settings, including:

• Emergency physicians
• Critical care physicians
• Anesthesiologists
• Trauma surgeons
• Physician assistants
• Physicians in advanced specialty training
• Other providers involved in the care of critically ill patients in emergency, intensive care, perioperative, or hospital-based acute care environments

Why Should You Attend?

In the care of critically ill patients, every minute matters. Focused TEE can provide real-time cardiac insight when transthoracic windows are limited and decisions cannot wait. This workshop helps clinicians strengthen core focused TEE skills through high-fidelity simulation, case-based discussion, and practical guidance for resuscitation, shock, cardiac arrest, and perioperative instability, with learning that connects directly to real bedside decision-making and patient care in real practice.

Highlights

• One-day, focused TEE workshop designed for acute care clinicians
• Hands-on training using HeartWorks high-fidelity simulators
• Practical approach to image acquisition and interpretation
• Case-based discussion connected to real resuscitation scenarios
• Pre-course materials provided in advance
• Live didactic instruction led by experienced faculty
• Designed to support bedside decision-making in critically ill patients
• Multidisciplinary learning environment for emergency medicine, critical care, anesthesia, trauma, and perioperative clinicians

Course Format

The Resuscitative TEE Workshop includes an asynchronous learning component and one live, in-person workshop session.

Selected pre-course materials are provided in advance so participants can review key concepts before attending the live course. This allows the in-person session to focus on practical learning, discussion, and hands-on simulator training.

During the one-day workshop, participants will engage in:

• Focused didactic instruction
• Case-based discussion
• Hands-on training with HeartWorks high-fidelity simulators
• Practical review of focused TEE image acquisition
• Clinical discussion around interpretation and bedside integration

This format is designed to help participants connect focused TEE concepts with the realities of acute care and resuscitation practice.

Media Waiver

The Resuscitative TEE Workshop may take photographs and video during its courses and conferences. These materials may be displayed, reproduced, and/or distributed for educational, advertising, or promotional purposes, whether in print, electronic, or other media, including The Resuscitative TEE Project’s website.

By registering for The Resuscitative TEE Workshop, participants grant the workshop organization and The Resuscitative TEE Project team the right to use photographs and video taken during the event for these purposes.
